In the last two volumes we added a few changes to the Author Guidelines to make our texts more consistent and clear. The most important are the ones for the references.

The first change is that all journal titles in references should NOT be abbreviated, but written in full form, e.g.:

SOKAČ, B. (2005): Linoporella vesiculifera n.sp., A New Calcareous Alga (Dasycladales) from the Upper Barremian of Mt. Biokovo (Karst Dinarides, Croatia).– Geologia Croatica, 58/2, 119–131, Zagreb. https://doi.org/10.4154/GC.2005.06

There is a change in the way of citing basic geological maps:

ŠIKIĆ, K., BASCH, O. & ŠIMUNIĆ, AN. (1978): Osnovna geološka karta SFRJ 1:100 000, list Zagreb L 38-80 [Basic Geological Map of SFRY 1:100 000, Zagreb sheet L 38-80 – in Croatian].– Institut za geološka istraživanja, Zagreb, Savezni geološki zavod, Beograd.

ŠIKIĆ, K., BASCH, O. & ŠIMUNIĆ, AN. (1979): Osnovna geološka karta SFRJ 1:100 000. Tumač za list Zagreb L 38-80 [Basic Geological Map of SFRY 1:100 000. Explanatory notes for the Zagreb sheet L 38-80 – in Croatian]. – Institut za geološka istraživanja, Zagreb, Savezni geološki zavod, Beograd, 81 p.

We also suggested new propositions on how to cite Web sources, e.g.:

BRITISH GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (2004): Commodity Profile: Magnesium. Available at:  https://nora.nerc.ac.uk/id/eprint/534460. Accessed on: December 10th, 2023.

NIKOLIĆ, T. (2015): Flora Croatica Database – Geoportal. Faculty of Science. University of Zagreb. Available  at: http://hirc.botanic.hr/fcd/beta/map/distribution. Accessed on: 15th March 2024.

There is an obligation when illustrating maps to cite the original source, e.g. "from OpenStreetMap®", especially for geological maps, e. g. "modified after ŠIKIĆ et al. (1978)".
